I have to tell you a secret. I photographed this gorgeous wedding in 2017 at this amazing venue. It’s right here in Indianapolis. It’s called 1899 Experience Venue. Never heard of it? Me either until I went there! It’s this cool historic building that has been preserved so nicely. The venue offers indoor and outdoor spaces and can accommodate up to 600 guests. The best part (as a wedding photographer) is the grounds you get to use for photos!! I would do a wedding there every single weekend and still not get the same backgrounds for every couple. If you are looking for a unique wedding venue – this is it.
Let’s start with the wedding ceremony first. Rachel and Derek’s wedding had their wedding outdoors and even though it was sprinkling, it was beautiful. They choose to have the fountain and the 1899 building in the background.
Inside the 1899 venue is stunning… those floors, those chandeliers, those pillars… I could go on. Even the bathrooms were perfect. Did I mention that Ooh LaLa Events coordinated everything? They did an outstanding job!
I saved the best for last… the grounds!! It’s this photographer’s dream come true! Rachel and Derek were so willing to go wherever on the grounds and let me as creative as I wanted to! There are abandoned buildings, textures and colors, old and new… I just LOVE it.
